This past June I revisited the eastern high-plains, deserts, and mountains of east Oregon. You can see a slideshow of the black and white images here.
From the Gorge to the Ochoco National Forest, there’s a lot of open space… surrounding some seriously amazing geologic forms.
And of course, the amazing old abandoned shells of former homes and other rustic architecture.
I just love these forgotten old abandoned buildings strewn around Oregon.
I’m always amazed how few people actually live in these rural areas… because it really is an amazingly beautiful area. But I also have to admit, the intense weather and lack of water is pretty overwhelming.
